A SPECIAL NOTE TO SURVIVALISTS:
The skill that KISSATA trains in, and that are outlined and explained in the handbook would be of very great value to the modern survivalist. The typical survivalist usually thinks in terms of a "retreat", which is usually the survivalist's rural home, or second home. A "fixed position". The good survivalist is self sufficient and considers themselves well armed and able to ward off attack.
However, in a bad situation where society has broken down, the thin blue line is broken, and the green line is protecting government and public interests, your retreat may become a magnet for the "have nots", and warding off an attack may be more difficult than you imagine. You may not want to consider or admit to this, but it may be possible, under unforseen circumstances, that you may have to abandon your retreat in order to avoid being killed in it, or captured. Most survivalists do not consider this possibility, as they have so much invested in their retreat.
That's the bad news. Now the good! Recon, escape and evasion, ambush, fast action drills, navigation and patrolling are all skills that can enable you to make a coordinated and safe withdrawl, and make it possible for you to retake your position later. Whatever your numbers are, these skills will increase your effectiveness, and make you more powerful. Knowing how to make an orderly retreat, and fight a rear guard action will save lives. Just knowing how to fight is important. There is more to it than just shooting your gun at someone. You have to be in coordination with the others in your family or group. You must know how to cover each other, whether static or moving, communicate silently, and move and work as a unit.
Another consideration is that you can't just hole up indefinately in a stucture, or within onehundred feet of it. You need to scout a large perimeter and area to know what's going on, and "who's coming to dinner", or worse yet, if hell is coming to breakfast. You may want to forage, or travel in order to make contact with friendly others. KISSATA skills will increase your chances of doing these things safely, and not learning stuff the hard way. Death is a grim lesson.
If someone does lay seige to your position, your best defense may be to take the fight unexpectedly to them, on your terms, and DESTROY THEM! Your chances of doing this greatly increase with real fighting skills.
It would be in the interest of the serious survivalist to be part of KISSATA, for the reasons stated above, and also to network with like minded people so that in such a situation we would have strength in numbers, knowing who the friendly others are in our areas.
Survivalists, that is all...DISMISSED!!!!!!!
