You may think that the Commander is perfect! And that he never lies, and is always right. (yeah RIGHT!) However, he did forget to include some important tips on recruitment in the handbook, so until they can be added I will post them here.
Probably the most simple and easy way, with a minimum commitment is to print up some buisness cards with the KISSATA web-page address. These could also include your email address, or not. Up to you. My suggestion would be that they said: "The KISS anti-terrorist alliance", and then "KISSATA!" underneath that, the web address underneath that, and then your "code name", or KISSATA name underneath that along with your email address, if you choose to include that. (and you should)You can then post these on bulletin boards at friendly gun stores or surplus stores, and give them out to interested individuals wherever you meet them, and at gun shows or the shooting range, or shooting events. My last suggestion is that the card be a little Betsy Ross flag, or have the Betsy Ross flag on the back, but a plain card would do, especially if it was GREEN! Another KISSATA logo is coming soon, watch for it on the main page. You could also make up some bumber stickers or window stickers with a Betsy Ross flag and the KISSATA web-address. Some of my cards say: "DEATH TO TERRORISTS", with Skully on them, and then the web-page address. It's a good attention getter. I am also having peel-off window stickers/decals made up that will be available soon. They are a skull in the middle of a circle, and around the circle it says: "Death to Terrorists" on top, and the Web address on the bottom. They will be most excellent and mean looking and will look great on a vehicle.
The next step up, for the more outgoing and more dedicated of us, is to get a table at a gun show, make a KISSATA display, and recruit by selling the hand book. For this purpose I will wholesale the handbook in lots of ten for $5.00 each. If you sell the book for $8.50 you will re-coup most of that money. Ten books will also last for at least two to three gunshows. (no, you won't be swamped by interested people) All in all you will be making a money commitment or contribution to the cause, but you will be in charge, and not a cent goes to a "middle man" or Commander Klick, or for "administrative" purposes. (and Skully don't get a cut either!)
I do a couple or three gun shows per year, and I have learned some of the pitfalls, so listen to the Commander.
First you need a somewhat large poster(s) and/or display to catch the eye. If you are not the artsy-craftsy type find a wife, girlfriend, or daughter, or someone else who is. (not being sexist, women do have better penmanship) Another thing is that even with a good display, most people will walk on by if there is not a gun to look at, so I would suggest that you bring some old guns you would be willing to sell, or even hit the pawn shops, buy a couple, and have them on the table for sale. You might even make a buck or two profit. The best thing to do, along these lines though, would be to order a half dozen Mosin-Nagant carbines for cheap, or even 91/30's, and some ammo. Clean them up, put a nice cammo paint job on them, and sight them in. Sell the gun at a small profit margin with a test-target and twenty or forty rounds of ammo included. Sell them as "KISSATA TRAINING RIFLES", or HOMELAND DEFENSE RIFLES, and include a handbook at a reduced price, or price the rifle so that you can include the book, or discount the rifle if they buy the book, or....use your imagination MAGGOT!!
The Mosin-Nagant is just a suggestion as they are cheap and available, as is the ammo, and are excellent weapons. But you could use any other appropriate rifles too, Jungle Carbines, M95 Styers, K31 Swiss rifles, etc. If you are the gunsmith, or even a good backyard gunsmith you could get a batch of Turk Mausers (VERY cheap, as is surplus 8mm at the moment) and cut them down into carbines, and turn them into "KISSATA training rifles". (but you would have to do a nice job, or you would never sell them.) Just a thought.
So those are just some ideas. If you have some ideas on recruitment, send them in and I will post them, and even give you credit for them! Such a deal! What are you waiting for MAGGOT??? GET MOVING!!!
PLEASE NOTE: Buying rifles for re-sale, especially in quantity, could violate federal law if you don't have a FFL, I'm not sure. Be sure to check into the legalities of this if you choose to sell rifles at a gun show, and determine if you need a C&R or FFL to do so. Just a reminder not to do anything illegal in the name of KISSATA, and I am in no way suggesting breaking the law in any of the suggestions above. CHECK YOUR LOCAL AND FEDERAL LAWS. THAT'S AN ORDER.
